Malu Kiai Mura Buai

Malu Kiai Mura Buai is a Torres Strait Islander Dance Group based in Brisbane. All performers are from Boigu Island, located in the top western part of the Torres Strait and the most northerly inhabited island of Australia separating Cape York Peninsula form the island of New Guinea, Malu-Kiai is the traditional name given to the people of Boigu Island.

The performers share their traditional songs and dances that have been passed down from generation to generation based on the everyday life of island stories.

They first performed at World Expo 88 and have since performed at the Woodford Folk Festival, Out of the Box and NAIDOC Week celebrations, G20 Summit and at schools.
