Gudanji Dancers brings together Western and Eastern Ku Ku Yalangi language and dance by engaging Ku Ku Yalanji descendants living in the Brisbane region to participate in cultural song and dance.
A dance group encouraging participating from the younger generation they have been a part of Brisbane’s cultural dance for a number of years now. Led by the Tyson Family Gudanji are always a crowd favourite at Yawar with their dance “Old Man”.
Originating from the rainforests of Far North Queensland, the Kuku Yalanji people have been living in harmony with the environment for over 50,000 years. Their borders extend from Port Douglas in the south, to Cooktown in the north and Chillagoe in the west.
